It was cold and dark and the first time I had ever locked myself outside the house with no windows open that I could climb through! My daughter was outside in the cold waiting for me to come and pick her up and I was about to be late for a meeting. I could not phone anyone...my phone was inside. The spare key had not been returned to it's outside hiding place again! I tried to "pick the lock" but having no experience in this I could not get the lock to open. I cried out to God for help. I thought maybe our other daughter would come home and let me in! Then I remembered our lost key. About a year ago we had lost our spare key. It was kept hidden under something outside and I thought that maybe it had been pushed too far underneath for us to reach it. I decided I would try to find it again. The garage happened to be unlocked so I got a screw driver and scraped it under the place where we used to keep the key. I heard a chink and felt around in the dark amid the dirt on the concrete and there it was! It had been kept hidden in a safe place until I needed it, safe from those whose tendency it is to use, but not put back!
