Jehovah Jireh -
The Lord is my provider so I will not be anxious.
I came home late and needed to take a desert with me to an evening meal we were going to. I looked in the cupboards but there wasn't anything that didn't take more time than I had, to make. I said to the Lord "What am I going to take for desert?". A few minutes later a friend came round with an apple pie. The Lord is my provider! He has proven this time and time again and always on Time! Below are more testimonies of how God has shown me this aspect of His character. My daughter needed a new pair of tracksuit pants and 3 tops. When I saw the price of new ones I thought they were too expensive. I decided I would have to make them. That night a friend came round with 3 tops for my daughter! I don't normally buy magazines but one day I felt like reading some. I did not mention this to anyone but the following day my husband was given a pile of magazines ...mostly women's ones for me to read! After leaving work to start a family I was not very good
at sticking to the food budget needed for a one salary income, even though
it was a good salary!! One day while out shopping I decided I would not
overspend as I always did. So I did not buy any green vegetables. I thought
we would just have to make do until the next pay day. That evening my
husband came home with a box of fresh vegetables. He said that someone
had brought a pile of vegetables into work. The same person continued
to bring in fresh vegetables each week and so God had provided again and
shown me that the best way to spend my money is not to overspend! I wanted to re wallpaper one of the bedrooms and prepare it for our first child. My husband said that we couldn't afford it. I prayed that God would help us to get some wallpaper. Soon after that, a friend asked my husband if he wanted to sell the left over decking timber we had. He had a use for it. So we sold it and Peter gave me the money. I went in to look at wallpaper. I had not previously seen anything suitable that I liked but this time I saw just what I wanted. It was the end of a run and there was just the right amount left but even though it was on special it was still more than the money I had. So I thought I would ask the shop assistant (even though bartering is not the accepted practice in New Zealand), what was the lowest price he would take for it. I held my breath waiting to hear what he would say and you can imagine my joy when he dropped the price considerably and said exactly the amount I had been given from the timber sale!! When we first got a computer printer we did not have the graphical interface that makes everything so easy to use like we have today. I was feeling very frustrated because the computer was printing every second page only and I needed every page printed. I asked God for a miracle ....every page printing. He gave me what I asked for. He overrided the computer printing settings and gave me every page causing it to function contrary to how it should have. A few days later I found out how to print every page!! When I was pregnant with each of our 3 children, God provided home help. I did not write down all the details at the time, even though God has prompted me often to write things down, so I cannot share them. I knew I had to take things very carefully and rest a lot as I miscarried easily. With the second full term pregnancy, on the day the doctor said I didn't need home help, it just so happened that some-one visited me and told me about a new government funded, free service. It was no longer available when I was pregnant with my 3rd full time pregnancy. I was diabetic during this one and one of the ladies who came to our church, came. Shelly had some physical disabilities as a result of Multiple Sclerosis. In order to do the vacuuming she had to crawl but she wanted to give back to God something for all the help she had had over the years. She was a real blessing to me and part of God's miraculous provision. She died a few years later.
