 Bio summary

“You are my witnesses and my servants, chosen to know and to believe me and to understand that I alone am God. There is no other God; there never was and never will be. I am the Lord and there is no other saviour”. Isaiah 43:10-11

"He makes wars to cease to the ends of the earth" Psalm 46:9

A small group of us, part of a larger outreach team at St. Marks Methodist Church in Napier, went out one evening to do some street witnessing. Not many people were out on the street, but two men, bigger than me approached each other intent on fighting. I found myself praying out very loud in tongues and suddenly a lot of young people came “out of the woodwork” so to speak. I rushed between the two men and found myself saying, “If you want to hit someone, hit me.” I hoped that they wouldn't as they seemed like giants compared to me. They both began to smile and looked rather sheepishly at the ground. A police car drove past at that very moment and the fight broke up. However all the young people stayed and were very keen to talk to us, so we were able to tell them about Jesus. That night I worried about whether I had done the right thing or not by standing between the two men. My bible reading included the words “He makes wars to cease to the ends of the earth.” Well I thought, New Zealand was about as far away from Jerusalem that you could get. It was the ends of the earth relatively speaking and God had used me to end one war. On the Sunday as it was the last day of the outreach, we were given an opportunity to share about our witnessing so I shared what God had done.
