What is Poyema Dance Company?


Poyema Dance Company is committed to creating and presenting work of spiritual expression and integrity: this may be called 'sacred',
'liturgical ' or 'mythic' dance.

Poyema Dance Company style is neo-classical / contemporary.

The essence of Poyema Dance Company and the source of inspiration for the choreography is our various conditions of Celebration, Awe and Unknowing, and our collective being as Disciples, Pilgrims and 'Tellers of The
Story'.

Poyema Dance Company is formed and directed by Jennifer De Leon

It is New Zealand's only professional liturgical dance company.

A DVD containing dance work about stillness in the midst of chaos with stunning filming and editing by Andrew Rockell,
choreography by Jennifer De Leon, the voice Warwick Broadhead, and danced by Poyema Dance Company dancers Iris Wegmueller, Catherine de Croy, Sjouke van Houten and Jennifer.
