Portrait

To portray the image of God
is to capture the wind as wind
whispering, howling
helping spoiling.
No box is big enough for God.
No label all encompassing.
A million words cannot give
a complete picture
for They go on forever.
We catch but a pinhole view.

With my pen I have tried
to run with the wind
and hold it on a page
for the wind began with a word
and a word can move the wind.

Let the word leap and dance
and birth
a breeze
a tornado
to destroy the mist that obscurs the view
to enlarge the hole
so we glimpse a new
face of God.
