Prayer for September 2010

Almighty miracle working God, let us see a great revealing of the work of your Spirit in the world. Reveal yourself in magnificent ways so that the dark strongholds of power preventing freedom to worship Christ are broken and the proclamation of Jesus Christ as Lord is welcomed and celebrated. Let the deception of legalism be seen for what it is and the truth of your gospel shine in all the dark places of the world. We cry out for Pakistan that she might be next on your list of countries partaking in the freedom and peace that comes from the acknowledgement of Christ.
We pray especially for those who want a visa to leave places like Pakistan, and for all those Christians who are suffering under the tight grip of anti Christian religious fervour. Surround your people and let them experience the greater power that You have to help them. May they not forget that You are the one who opens doors and You are the one who still performs mighty miracles. Enable your people to shine where they are and daily offer you their lives. To live is Christ and to die is gain, as Paul the most famous of Christians understood.
Move especially among the world leaders, that they may know you, the gentle lion.... the untameable lion, who cares for the wellbeing of all His people. May they do likewise. May the rule of our world leaders be a triumph for compassion and wisdom so that all people can experience the peace and wellbeing of trustworthy leadership.

Amen.

“Remember the miracles he performed, the amazing things he did…” (Psalm 105:5)

“You have done many miraculous things, O LORD my God. You have made many wonderful plans for us. No one compares to you! I will tell others about your miracles, which are more than I can count” (Psalm 40:5)
